Certified Laboratories and Hiperbaric USA announce agreement to provide HPP validation services to the U.S. food market.

Hiperbaric USA, the world’s leading manufacturer of High Pressure Processing (HPP) equipment for the food industry, and Certified Laboratories, a nationwide network of ISO accredited food testing laboratories announced today the availability of HPP validation services to the U.S. food market.

“We feel this relationship will support our mission to help our customers market innovative and healthy food products, improve the safety of food and create new opportunities for expanding markets”, said Jaime Nicolas-Correa, President of Hiperbaric.

“HPP is currently applied to meat, seafood, dairy, fruits, juices, ready to eat food products, baby food, dips and salads.  As the scope of HPP applications continues to grow, our agreement positions us well to support the process validations that will be required”, said Steven Mitchell, President of Certified Laboratories.

High Pressure Processing (HPP) is a cold pasteurization technique by which products, already sealed in their final package, are introduced into a vessel and subjected to a high level of isostatic pressure (300-600MPa/43,500-87,000psi) transmitted by water.

HPP has been applied to a wide range of food products to extend shelf-life, maintain organoleptic, and improve food safety.

Certified Laboratories provides expertise in the area of shelf-life and challenge studies for the purpose of evaluating microbial reduction intervention or treatment. Certified Laboratories also offers process authority services, including manufacturing process reviews.
