  • The expanded policy applies to every supplement category, not just previously designated high-risk products.
  • Sellers typically have 90 days to submit verification through an Amazon-approved Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) provider, such as Certified Laboratories.
  • Non-compliance can result in listing suppression or removal, making proactive preparation critical for brands selling on Amazon.

Amazon updates dietary supplement seller's policy in 2026.

Amazon Supplement Updates 2026 Raise the Bar for Sellers

Amazon has once again raised the bar for dietary supplement compliance – and if you sell on the platform, this update could significantly affect your business.

As of early 2026, Amazon’s dietary supplements policy now requires all dietary supplements sold on its marketplace to demonstrate compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards, verified by an Amazon-approved third-party Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) organization

If this feels familiar, you’re not wrong. In 2024, Amazon first announced this requirement for high-risk supplement categories, specifically sexual enhancement, weight management, and sports nutrition. That policy served as a preview of what was coming: full-scale cGMP verification for the entire supplements category.

What’s Changing in 2026?

Here’s the core update, as quoted in Amazon’s dietary supplements policy

All dietary supplements:

Must be manufactured in a facility compliant with the FDA’s Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations cGMPs 21 CFR 111 or 21 CFR 117, or equivalent:

  • Third-Party cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) audit or certification must be performed by an accredited third-party.
  • Private audits, first-party audits, consulting audits, and FDA inspections will NOT be accepted.
  • The cGMP certificate must be in good standing and cannot be expired.

This goes beyond the original 2024 policy update. Previously, only sellers in high-risk spaces had to meet this standard. Amazon’s expanded policy now includes every category of dietary supplement, regardless of risk level.

What’s required?

  • Facility cGMP compliance, such as a third-party auditor’s certification, must be verified by an Amazon-accepted TIC provider, such as Certified Laboratories, NSF, USP, Eurofins, UL, and others.
  • Sellers typically have 90 days to submit verification once contacted by Amazon.
  • Some products may be auto-verified if cGMP documentation is already available in Amazon’s system via past submissions or third-party databases.

Let’s Break Down the New Requirements

1. Provide Proof of cGMP Compliance

You must demonstrate that your products are manufactured in accordance with FDA’s current Good Manufacturing Practices (21 CFR Parts 111 and 117). This is a foundational requirement for all U.S. supplements, but Amazon now wants third-party proof.

2. Work with a Verified TIC Provider

Only Amazon-approved TIC organizations, such as Certified Laboratories, can review and verify your compliance documentation.

3. Prepare for a 90-Day Compliance Window

Once you’re contacted by Amazon, the clock starts. You’ll typically have 90 days to submit proof of cGMP verification. If your documentation isn’t ready or your lab isn’t authorized, you risk having your listings removed or suppressed.

Amazon supplements updates 2026 require you to demonstrate that all your supplements are manufactured according to FDA’s current good manufacturing practices.

A New Option: Fast-Track Compliance

To help sellers navigate this shift, Amazon has introduced a Fast-Track Compliance Program

If your product is already certified by select TIC partners, such as BSCG, Clean Label Project, GRMA, Informed Choice, NSF, or USP, Amazon may automatically validate your compliance using existing certification data. This means you might not need to submit documentation manually.

What Happens If You Don’t Comply?

Simple: your listings could be removed

Non-compliance can result in:

  • Suppressed listings.
  • Temporary or permanent delisting.
  • Lost revenue during peak selling seasons.
  • Long delays while documentation is reviewed.

Amazon’s compliance system continues to evolve, but one thing is clear: enforcement is becoming faster and more automated. If your documentation isn’t in order, your listings may not survive the next sweep.

How Certified Laboratories Can Help

Certified Laboratories is an Amazon-approved TIC organization, which means we are authorized to conduct the required lab testing and verify cGMP documentation directly. Please note that we do not perform cGMP facility audits – we only verify cGMP documentation provided by your third-party auditor.

We work with EAS Consulting Group, our fellow Certified Group company, to support your full regulatory compliance needs:

  • Lab testing + verification of a third-party auditor’s cGMP certification in one place.
  • Guidance on documentation required by Amazon.
  • Label reviews and regulatory support through EAS Consulting Group
  • Confidence that your supplements meet Amazon’s updated expectations.

Consider a GMP Gap Assessment

To ensure efficiency and compliance with Amazon requirements, it is best to be fully prepared for a third-party GMP audit. Poor performance on a GMP certification audit can cause extensive delays in obtaining certification.

EAS Consulting Group is available to conduct gap assessments to the requirements in the dietary supplement GMPs and assist in any remediation activities necessary prior to scheduling the third-party certification audit.

Please contact EAS to schedule your GMP gap assessment and engage them as your consulting partner.

This Is Bigger Than Amazon

It’s tempting to see this as just another hoop to jump through. But Amazon’s 2026 supplement policy is part of a wider industry shift. Regulators, retailers, and consumers all want better transparency and higher standards.

Brands that embrace verified GMP compliance will not only stay live on Amazon, they’ll better position themselves for success with increasingly savvy customers.
